Our Story, From My Perspective
“Hi, I’m Dave Vargo, CEO of Red Shark Water Bikes, and I was hoping you’d come along on this ride with me. My adventure began about four years ago in Spain, where I had the incredible fortune to meet the designer and CEO of Red Shark. I had so much fun riding them in the Mediterranean – it was an experience I knew I had to bring back home. That passion allowed me to get them out here to you, and I’m super excited about that!
If you’re looking for something truly adventurous on the water, you’ve found it. Our water bikes are designed for ultimate portability: an inflatable board that fits into its own roller bag with a pump, and the whole assembled bike is less than 60 pounds. You can literally take it anywhere.
The biggest question I get is about stability, and I can tell you, they are super stable. It actually has a keel, like a sailboat, which is about 18 inches deep, complemented by a 9-inch rear fin. Plus, the drivetrain that goes in the water extends about 14 inches deep. This gives you three solid contact points beyond the board’s surface, keeping it incredibly stable and making it easy to get on and off. I’m often just cruising at about 3-4 knots with a C propeller, which is great if you want to pedal hard and maintain a strong cadence.
We also offer versatility with our propellers. Depending on the model you choose, you’ll get different options – for instance, the ‘Enjoy’ comes with two, while the ‘Fitness’ bike with the black frame offers four different propellers. You can switch these out in a couple of seconds, as each has a unique design and pitch to give you varying levels of resistance and speed. And for even more flexibility, you can always take the bike off and use the board as a stand-up paddleboard.”
